A very good first ever honey show for Lytchett Bay Apiaries, and I won what I considered to be the creme-de-la-creme, first prize for my honey in the Commercial Section.
I got two First places for honey, a second for honey, a second place for Honey cake, a second for photography, a third place for Decorative wax (which I didn’t think would place due to some surface faults) and a highly commended for an 8oz block of wax.
Considering that I nearly binned my entry for the commercial section due to having to re-design and chop down my tables to fit the jars I had to use, I think the First place was superb – this was the class I really wanted to win.
I did not enter enough classes in each section to get any trophies, but I have some good ideas for next year now, and rather than do an off the cuff entry, I will plan ahead for next year.
Very happy with the result. A special thanks to Karen for making the honey cake, brills mush lol – it tastes great with my cup of tea!
