I recently purchased a microscope, mainly to use for checking samples in our hedgehog rescue, but also to add a new string to my beekeeping bow.
The kit I purchased comes with a USB ocular, so that I can look at, and take pictures via my computer monitor.
Here are a few pictures of the same section of the leading edge of a honey bee’s wing at three different magnification levels. Unfortunately, I can’t specify the magnification as the manual does not state the magnification factor of the USB ocular.
I hope that I’ll be able to master the art of correctly mounting slides, and get some better images of the honey bee’s anatomy to post.
Oh fun! I have a couple friends that do this and have shared pictures with me and the club as well. It’s another world!
